If you want to use the RasPiGNSS expansion board for PPP or RTK applications, you need to make absolutely sure to get the most from satellite signals available, thus using a quality antenna capable of receiving GPS, GLONASS, and SBAS signals is strongly encouraged.
In our tests with the RasPiGNSS module we tested both no-brand stock GPS antennas as well as high-gain quality GPS/GLONASS antennas from Tallysman. Our tests indicate that quality antennas like the Tallysman TW-4421 or TW-2410 outperform standard GPS antennas by far, regarding both signal strength and fix quality.
